Swashbucklin’

Posted by Dresden     Category: Iniquity News, MMO News, Raid Announcement

No one can deny the power of the scout tank. After we finished off our normal round of targets (the first 2 bosses in Labs, Tox, and Palace), we decided to venture a bit further into Perah’Celsis’ Abominable Laboratory. Boy, am I glad we did! I had the distinct pleasure of tanking the 3rd boss, Sara Greenheart. As a swashbuckler this is a rare experience and the encounter was a blast! As usual we did this with our small complement of quality people – Flawless and Shorthanded, hard to beat.

Congrats to Gnomo and Devilicus on those great wrists. Also, congrats to Mastiqul on your beautiful new legs, Anarchous and Devilicus on your boots, Starla and After on your gloves, Ubba on the pokey tooth, Rama and Anarchous on your rings, After on the charm, and Talysha on your helm. Just typing all that out made me realize how awesome a night we had. Great job to all.

Iniquity News Update (from Epic Slant)

Posted by Dresden     Category: Iniquity News, MMO News, Recruiting

Iniquity has been marching forward on EverQuest II’s Oasis server! A lot has happened in a very short amount of time and we’ve been capitalizing on it! Success after success has raised our morale to new heights! On this news update we’ll be looking into the Group Three Project, raid progression, recruitment, and a much deserved vacation for a large group of members. Would you like to know more?

Group Three Project

In the beginning of July we kicked off the Group Three Project. The goal of this effort was to fill out our third raid group and expand the guild for the first time since its re-inception. To that end we’ve been quite successful. Iniquity has seen three members return from the old days, the recruitment of one player, and found two more exceptional gentlemen to bring in as consistent guests. That in itself basically marks the project as complete and we might have to look into repeating it as the Group Four Project.

Raid Progression

For a guild that until July only had ten members raiding we’ve made a lot of progress! We have defeated the first two bosses in Labs, Tox, and Palace. On top of that we’re very close to dropping the third mob in both Tox and Palace. We could probably achieve even more than that but our casual schedule doesn’t leave us a lot of time to test raid. With group three being filled out we need less time to drop targets and that has lead to even more successes in shorter time frames. It is great to be in a position where you can kill more than you have time to. Our dance card is full and we’re pleased with it.

Recruitment

Recruitment continues on and we’ve had a whole lot more interest with our additional successes. We’ve done a good job of bringing Iniquity back to the server’s attention without spamming open channels with mindless recruitment messages. We’re sticking to classy individuals who want to raid two nights a week for a few hours with us. We’ll continue to progress at our own pace and enjoy it far more than the stressful way we raided back in the old days. We are currently looking for a full time dirge, mystic, warden, and warlock. Seek us out in game or check the Iniquity Guild site to apply !

Fan Faire!

Iniquity will be missing a week of raids because a whopping eight raid members are going to Fan Faire! We’re going to take some time off, have a lot of drinks, and gamble until we end up passed out in random areas of the faire. If you’d like to meet with us let me know! We’re a great bunch of folks and we intend to party the right way. We’ll be wearing blue Epic Slant shirts!

Screen Shots

For the last few raids we’ve been trying to take pictures of what we’re killing to show off a little bit. We universally forget each time. We’ll try to do better on the next pass!

Meet the New Boss

While he may look like a mild-mannered milk man, Evanwilliams has greater ambitions. Along with his sidekick Jim Beam, who gets into way too much trouble for such a tiny dwarf, these two plan on bringing Kentucky Bourbon to a cereal bowl near you. If you love whiskey or just like midgets in cute outfits, please join Evanwilliam’s Personal Fan Club.

Although he plays my alt on TV, Evanwilliams has dreams of much greater glory. He doesn’t want to simply be another bot following Dresden around like tools following Ashton Kutcher on Twitter. Some say greatness is born in the fires of adversity. Being born a dorf is harsh enough, but then to be dressed like the marshmallow puff man is an indignity few should be forced to suffer. For now he must continue to dream, but one day the world will tremble at the sight of a boat captain’s hat with a cherry and wings (By the way, who designs the hats for SOE?!).

Apologies from a Lazy Updater

It has been a good five months since I have posted anything on our main page but we have been very busy on our lovely-but-aging Oasis server. Sure, she may think that Toxxulia is Venekor at times while babbling about Lord Nagalik’s awful AE, but in that regard she isn’t much different from some of our members. We remember alot of good times on this server and have been busy making some new memories for us to be nostalgic about in EQ3.

As you may have seen on Epic Slant or on this page, we are still recruiting for people interested in our play style. Currently we are raiding around two days a week (Wed/Sat) in the evening EST. Some weeks we do more, some weeks we do less, but we always have fun! With our tight knit group of longtime friends we bring about two groups of people to x4 content and have thoroughly enjoyed everything so far. Some of the content we are regularly “farming” includes Ernax Heridion, Vernox the Insatiable, Wyvernlord Tuluun, Wyrmlord Zaos, Lieutenant Buldoral, and many others in Icy or the x2. Not only are we regularly killing alot of x4 content with a small core of players, but we are consistently progressing through new content as well. Our aim is to get each of our members geared out and continue through any raids that catch our interest.

If a casual raiding style with a fun group of people interests you, feel free to Apply. All are welcome to join. We are a group of mature players who have jobs, spouses, and other real life responsibilities but still enjoy raiding when we are able.

Demitrik’s Bastion in Sentinel’s Fate

Posted by Dresden     Category: Iniquity News, MMO News

Wow, where do I start?! This place was a blast. I will do a very quick description of the zone and you tell me if this sounds like I am dropping some LSD. There are little evil ratonga all over the place (roekillik) who ride anything from a huge griffon to a giant Mushroom man (literally hanging off the back of it Mad Max Master Blaster style). A huge cannon, giant robot on a massive bridge, and a mob named Nayt the Grate Keeper who you drop rocks onto, to round out the zone. The experience of going through it was so strange that I almost forgot I was playing EQ2, which isn’t always a bad thing. The creativity/insanity of the developer is on full display in this zone and I heartily commend it!

If you want a full strat write-up of Demitrik’s Bastion, head on over to Ferrel’s blog at Epic Slant. He has done a great job breaking down the zone and each encounter, I highly suggest checking it out if you are interested or stuck on a certain area/boss.
